The United States Navy Band will present a free concert at Eastern Kentucky University on Friday, March 14.

The event will begin at 8 p.m. in Brock Auditorium. The public is welcome.

The band, the Navy's premier musical organization, performs frequently at White House and Pentagon ceremonies and tours annually throughout the country.

Free general admission tickets are available at the EKU Department of Music, Room 101 of the Foster Building, and may be picked up at Brock Auditorium beginning 20 minutes prior to the concert. All unclaimed seats will be made available to non-ticket holders just prior to concert time.

Under the baton of Capt. Ralph Gambone, the band will present a variety of popular and classical favorites. Members of local bands will join the Navy Band on stage to perform John Philip Sousa's "Washington Post March."

After the Navy Band played in Salt Lake City, the Salt Lake Tribune raved: "The United States Navy Band literally blew itself into the hearts of an audience which jammed the tabernacle Tuesday night. The group performing was, without a doubt, one of the finest bands in existence."
